The Companhia das Docas
do Estado da Bahia - Codeba works with a new
environmental policy that matches the current
legislation, predominantly the state laws. For
Codeba, ecology awareness is more than a commitment;
it’s a daily attitude in the Harbors of
Salvador, Ilhéus, and Aratu, which follow
strictly the preservation recommendations in
all harbor activities.
All Codeba’s environmental management work
is developed by a coordination created with this
specific purpose: the Coordenação
de Assuntos Estratégicos (Coordination
of Strategic Affairs) - CAE, responsible for
the self-control and continuous improvement of
the environmental performance and work environment
at the Company’s harbors.
The legislation that directs
the environmental activities developed at the
harbors administered
by the Company was adopted in June 18th, 1999,
when the first Comissão Técnica
de Garantia Ambiental (Technical Commission for
Environmental Guarantee) – CTGA was also
constituted, and formed by employees – representatives
of the several different fields covered by the
Company – and a technician from the Órgão
Gestor de Mão de Obra do Trabalho Portuário
dos Portos de Salvador e Aratu (Labor Force Management
Entity of Harbor Activities at the Harbors of
Salvador and Aratu) - OGMOSA.
